Rennes, France, 13th of October 2025. Alliance on Agriculture and Food Transitions (ALTAA) gathered retail, farming, policy institutions, networks and producers from the region of Rennes in a conference to discuss how to mobilize and work with the private sector at the local level to accelerate food and farming transition.

Johanne Jelnes, from the Vegetarian Society of Denmark was invited to give a keynote on how bridgebuilding and collaboration in Denmark has led to the Danish plant-based policies and funding.   

A key part of the success in Denmark has been to work for what we want more off, in this case plants. We have focused on building up the plant-based value chain and building trust in the entire value-chain. To get all to work together” Johanne Jelnes said, from stage,  

During the presentation Johanne Jelnes highlighted the need to collaborate; and collaboration was also a key theme at the following roundtable discussions with representatives from Varolial, a European Cluster for Collaboration, Drôme Food Club, an organisation that works to enhance the focus on locally grown produce in collaboration with local producers and La Fabrique des Transition, a collaboration between four local authorities in four territories that work on cross cutting sustainable solutions within food, health, transport and energy.
