Milan, 24th of September, 2025. RIPA – the Italian Network for Alternative Proteins – was launched at an event that gathered companies, non-profit organisations and research bodies to discuss how to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable food system.

Danish Plant Based Diplomacy facilitated the participation of Mette Fisker who coordinated the Danish Network for Plant Proteins from 2020 – 2022. A similar network that since its launch in 2020 has gathered 266 Danish stakeholders across the value-chain to strengthen collaboration and sharing of best practice.

RIPA aims to strengthen and make the sector more competitive by promoting public policies in support of the food transition, by giving the sector a united voice in institutional arenas and creating networking opportunities among key players in the value chain.

Other speakers included Eleonora Evi (Member of the Italian Parliament for the Democratic Party), Rosamaria Provenzale (President of RIPA), Piergiorgio Zuccaro (Umnin) and Sofia Miller (Planted).
