Madrid, 7th of October 2025. The Danish Agriculture and Food Council repeated their support for Denmark’s plant-based food policies, describing plant-based production as a valuable complement and a new growth opportunity for Danish farmers.
Speaking at an event hosted by the Danish Embassy in Madrid, Anders Klöcker, Head of Innovation at the Danish Agriculture and Food Council, presented Denmark’s Action Plan for Plant-Based Foods and the Plant-Based Food Grant – two cornerstone government initiatives driving the country’s food transition.
The event, organized by Ambassador Michael Braad, gathered key stakeholders from across Spain, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, regional governments, farmers’ organizations, industry, academia, and green NGOs.
Throughout the day, participants discussed the potential for a Spanish Action Plan for Plant-Based Foods, drawing inspiration from Denmark’s success. The open dialogue highlighted a strong shared interest in sustainable agriculture, food innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.
Participants emphasized the importance of creating long-term spaces for cooperation – where farmers, policymakers, and researchers can align on common goals and joint initiatives. Such collaboration, will be essential to achieving a fair, healthy, and sustainable food transition in Spain.
