Brussels, 30th of April, 2025. The Think Tank Frej, part of the Danish Plant-Based Diplomacy initiative, met with EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Food, Christophe Hansen, alongside a wide range of stakeholders.

During the meeting, Christinna Tønner Jensen from Frej presented key Danish initiatives supporting the plant-based transition, including the Danish Action Plan for Plant-Based Foods, the Plant-Based Food Grant, and the Danish Legume Partnership.

These initiatives highlight Denmark’s commitment to increasing plant-based food production — both in the fields and on our plates. Frej emphasized that Denmark is not only promoting plant-based consumption but is also actively developing the entire value chain. This effort is supported across political lines, by civil society, and importantly, by farmers.

The key message to Commissioner Hansen: If we can do it in Denmark, we can do it anywhere.
